State of Rhode Island, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha ,

Narcotics & Organized Crime

The Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit is responsible for the investigation, management, and prosecution of all criminal cases that involve narcotics, firearms, and organized crime. These prosecutors also oversee the forfeiture of proceeds and instruments of criminal activity including narcotics, gambling, pandering/ permitting prostitution, and racketeering.

There is often a close relationship between narcotics related offenses and the use of firearms. Most of these cases involved the possession, use, and discharge of firearms, often during other violent crimes. We have worked closely with state and federal law enforcement to identify and prosecute individuals who illegally distribute firearms in Rhode Island, as well as to get key gun safety legislation passed involving illegal firearms.
