Election Incident Form

The Attorney General’s Office is committed to protecting your right to vote. It is illegal under Rhode Island law to use any means to intimidate voters either inside or outside of a polling place or early voting location, or near a ballot drop box. Intimidating behavior can include words or actions. It is also illegal for anyone to block or attempt to block, by any means, voters from the entrance to a polling place, early voting location, or ballot drop box.

You should fill out this form if you have observed intimidating behavior, feel your right to vote is being undermined, or have seen other inappropriate interference with the voting process. The Attorney General’s primary jurisdiction in election interference matters arises under R.I.G.L. § 42-9.3-2.

Please be as detailed as possible in describing what you have observed. We may share your information with the state Board of Elections, your local board of canvassers, the Secretary of State’s Office, or any other state or local government agency, if necessary.
