Neronha announced that a Pawtucket man has been indicted on multiple counts of sexual assault against a patient who was known to him at Tockwotton Assisted Living Facility in East Providence in May 2024. On September 24, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Anthony Alario (age 73, P1-2024-2955A) with one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault. As alleged in court documents, the defendant, who has no professional affiliation with the facility, sexually assaulted an older female patient in the memory care unit of Tockwotton Assisted Living Facility on May 20, 2024. An employee of the facility witnessed the assault and reported it. Following the alleged assault and investigation, the defendant relinquished his medical license. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on October 2, 2024 in Providence County Superior Court. ###
