Attorney General Neronha, coalition successfully defend voting by mail

Published on Tuesday, September 15, 2026

Attorney General Peter F. Neronha today issued the following statement following the Unites States Supreme Court’s decision blocking the Trump Administration from implementing unlawful restrictions on voting by mail in the 2026 election.

“Today, the Supreme Court overwhelmingly rejected President Trump’s bid to interfere in our elections by limiting voting by mail; a tried-and-true method of voting employed by millions of Americans, including the President himself,” said Attorney General Neronha. “This attempt was not the first, and almost certainly won’t be the last, but this win should give some comfort to Americans who are rightfully fed up. It is my hope that today’s victory inspires American citizens of all political ideologies to participate in our democracy come November. In the meantime, we will continue to closely monitor the Administration, and will not hesitate to act again if necessary.”
