Mayobanex Martinez (age 23)

On May 26, 2023, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Mayobanex Martinez with one count of first-degree murder, one count of discharging a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence resulting in death, one count of felony assault and/or battery, one count of discharging a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence resulting in injury, and one count of carrying a pistol without a license.

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence on or about December 19, 2022. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on June 7, 2023 in Providence County Superior Court.
