On November 7, 2023, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging James Pelletier with one count of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of felony assault resulting in serious bodily injury, one count of domestic assault, one count of refusal to relinquish a telephone when it was needed for an emergency, one count of driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of disorderly conduct.

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence on or about September 18, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on November 29, 2023 in Providence County Superior Court.
