On August 21, 2024, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Saheed Lawanson with three counts of first degree sexual assault, and one count of second degree sexual assault. 

The alleged acts occurred in the Town of Coventry on July 3, 2023. The Coventry Police Department conducted the investigation. 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on September 13, 2024, in Kent County Superior Court.
