On December 8, 2021, the Statewide Grand Jury returned a secret indictment charging Rachid Darradji with one count of first-degree child molestation and two counts of second-degree child molestation.

The alleged acts occurred in the city of East Providence on a day or date between January 1, 2015, and April 11, 2016. The East Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

A warrant was issued for the defendant’s arrest. On December 9, 2021, the secret indictment was unsealed, and the defendant was arraigned in Providence Superior Court.
