On January 13, 2023, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Ramsundar Ramkalawan with one count of first-degree murder, in the death of Donna MacDonald.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Exeter sometime on July 18, 2022. The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on January 27, 2023, in Washington County Superior Court.
