On June 9, 2022, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Brian Sousa with three counts of first-degree child molestation and three counts of second-degree child molestation.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Westerly sometime between October 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022. The Westerly Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 27, 2022, in Washington County Superior Court.

Lawrence Lopez (age 62)

Cranston, R.I.

On June 9, 2022, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Lawrence Lopez with one count of first-degree arson.

The alleged act occurred in the town of Foster sometime on April 1, 2022. The Foster Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 13, 2022, in Providence County Superior Court.
