Andrew Hardy (age 55)

On March 30, 2022, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Andrew Hardy with one count of first-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree child molestation, two counts of indecent solicitation of a minor, and one count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Johnston on various dates between May 1, 2018, and July 11, 2019. The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 20, 2022, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Carlos Figueroa Ortiz (age 29)

Portsmouth, R.I.

On March 30, 2022, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Carlos Figueroa Ortiz with one count of first-degree arson.

The alleged act occurred in the city of Warwick sometime on June 9, 2021. The Warwick Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 22, 2022, in Kent County Superior Court.
