On November 21, 2022, the Statewide Grand jury returned an indictment charging Nelson DeJesus with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of assault on a person with severe impairments.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of West Warwick sometime on August 5, 2022. The West Warwick Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions and scheduled to be arraigned on December 9, 2022, in the Kent County Superior Court.
