Luis Lopez (age 40)

Pawtucket, RI

On March 1, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Luis Lopez with one count of murder, one count of discharge of a firearm resulting in death, two counts of possession of a firearm without a license, two counts of possession of a ghost gun, six counts of possession of a firearm by person convicted of a crime of violence, one count of possession of body armor, one count of possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, and five counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device.

The alleged act occurred in the city of Central Falls on or about September 23, 2023. The Central Falls Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on March 6, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

Matteo Ruolo (age 63)

Johnston, RI

On March 1, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Matteo Ruolo with two counts of first-degree child molestation, and one count of second-degree sexual assault.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Johnston on diverse dates between November 11, 1995, and November 11, 2000. The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on March 20, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.
