On November 21, 2022, the Washington County Grand jury returned an indictment charging John Celico with two counts of first-degree sexual assault.

The alleged acts occurred in the town of South Kingstown sometime on August 2, 2022. The South Kingstown Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions and scheduled to be arraigned on December 12, 2022, in Washington County Superior Court.
