Published on Wednesday, May 17, 2023

An indictment, information, or complaint is merely an allegation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced that a Providence man has been charged in Providence County Superior Court with multiple counts of second-degree child molestation stemming from his arrest on January 9, 2023.

On April 28, 2023, the Office of the Attorney General charged Saron Vongsavang (age 29), by way of criminal information, with five counts of second-degree child molestation.

As alleged in the criminal information, the defendant sexually assaulted a victim, under the age of 14, multiple times on days and dates between June 23, 2022 and September 2, 2022 in Pawtucket.

The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

The defendant is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on July 5, 2023, in Providence County Superior Court.
