On March 4, 2026, Attorney General Neronha published the Office’s Report on Child Sexual Abuse in the Diocese of Providence. The report, which describes the Diocese’s handling of decades of clergy abuse, is the result of a yearslong investigation by the Office of the Attorney General, with assistance from the Rhode Island State Police.

Former Hopkinton man charged for alleged 2005 sexual assault following cold case investigation

Carrier today announced that a former Hopkinton man has been charged in Washington County District Court with two counts of first-degree sexual assault following his arrest on August 18, 2026, stemming from a joint investigation by the Office of the Attorney General and the Hopkinton Police Department, with assistance from the Woonsocket Police Department and the Connecticut State Police. ...
