Public Health Funding

On April 1, 2025, a coalition of 24 attorneys general filed a suit in Rhode Island challenging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for abruptly and illegally terminating nearly $11 billion in critical public health grants to the states. In the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island, we assert that the mass terminations violate federal law and the Administrative Procedures Act.
