SNAP Eligibility Cuts
On November 26, 2025, a coalition of 22 attorneys general filed a lawsuit in Oregon against the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to stop the federal government from unlawfully cutting off Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for thousands of lawful permanent residents. We argue that an October 31 USDA memo describing changes to program eligibility illegally rewrites the rules of SNAP eligibility according to federal statutes and misapplies the agency's own regulations.
