On August 3, 2026, a coalition of 23 attorneys general and two governors filed a lawsuit in Washington, DC, against the Trump Administration over unlawful policy changes which would give the administration broad access to the sensitive private information of millions of families receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits.
